paiN have announced the acquisition of Rafael "saffee" Costa , who is taking over AWPing duties on the team after Lucas "nqz" Soares stepped away from competition for personal reasons.
The Brazilian organization has announced that saffee will play at IEM Atlanta and the CS Asia Championships, and he has been enrolled as a substitute for the IEM Cologne Major.
saffee first joined paiN in 2020, where he played his first Major in 2021, and remained with the team until early 2022, when FURIA came knocking.
saffee stayed in Brazil's top side until mid-2023, and was a part of the squad that made it to the Major semi-finals in front of the home crowd in Rio. He then joined MIBR and was a starter for the team until his benching in August 2025.
